+1 with snatch STOCK! Best cam for a stock motor is a stock one....wait till you get some mods before doing a cam swap, it should be the last thing you do, after you know what else is done to the car. The cam ties everything together, don't just get one so that you can hear it lope and say you have a HUGE cam

going with a Kendrick Short Block with internal upgrades will stick with stock heads just going to have them port, polished and flow tested and have valve job done. Do not feel like dropping over $1000 just for heads car is plenty fast as it is. I was just wondering with larger fuel injectors, throttle body if I should change cams to get more out of what I have but I guess this answers my question stick to stock...

So why even get a different short block or port and polish the junk stock heads or change the cam if the car is plenty fast as it is?

Wasting money on porting the stock heads is foolish. You'd be better off buying a set of GT40P heads off of an Explorer or Mountaineer.

Well it was plenty fast before motor locked up. I am getting a deal on the port and polish of my stock heads cause I am buying the short block. I know they will not be as good as GT40 heads but for now its about all I can afford have dropped a lot of money in this car restoring interior, body work, rims, tires, suspension, tranny, now engine! I plan on down the road putting some nice heads on it but for now stock I was just thinking of putting cam in now so when I get better heads I do not have to pull it all out to swap cam when I can do it now. Was just a thought but think I am going to stick with the stock cam and probably just get it back up and running and call it good.

Define a good deal? I don't consider anything a good deal on factory E7 heads, especially if you plan on taking them off in the future. They are poor heads, even in ported form.

Sounds like even 24lb. injectors would be overkill for what you have planned.

with the stock heads and intake, the cam will do nothing but sound cool. and do not go with an alphabet cam. wait till you do a head/intake swap and either go customgrind, or have comp or lunati match you up with one of their products.
