need advise on ordering parts!!!

ok so i know everyone on here says you should run a custom ground cam for what you got...my question is would it be really be in my best interest to pay for a custom ground cam or is there a cam that would work with what i got.... im also wondering what i should run for rockers 1.7, 1.6's? will i need to get new push rods? anything else i should be looking to buy for my heads (besides springs) and if anyone has any experience with this setup....
i just picked up some used GT40p's
edelbrock torker 2 manifold machined for fuel injection ( attached picture)
efi spyder elbow
new fuel rails ( stockers in the pic came with it will not be used)
will be picking up new throttle body and spacer any recomendations on size??

this is my daily driver that i take to the track on the weekends would like to get it down to low 13's maybe 12's eventually....

get a throttle body that matches your intake opening.

Most elbows are 90MM so if it were me I would go 90MM on the TB. Depending on the cams you are looking at, it's not much more to go custom in some cases. Yes there are lots of ots cams that will work for your combination, will they be as optimal as a custom? No, but if you're going to be changing your combo around a lot, it might pay to look into the classified for a used comp cam or something similar. There's a lot of guys that run the xe series with GT-40 stuff. Remember that billet core cams are always better that SADI core. Look into what material the core is made out of before you buy. Being that you have pedestal mount heads, the difference in core won't be as important, but it will still make a difference because you have less cam flex with a billet core.

if you want an off-the-shelf cam, call lunati or comp and give them the info regarding the rest of your combo. they will find you a cam that will match up to your specs, but wont be customgrind. keep in mind though, the cam is like the brain of your combo. the brain needs to match everything else perfectly to run at full potential. thats why customgrinds are better.

Nobody on a forum can give you great cam lobe profile advice, unless they've had the same combo and good results with a certain cam, or they're very experienced with using different lobes on different combinations, or a cam grinder. I could recommend lobes, but I'm not sure if I would be right and i wouldn't want to steer you in the wrong direction. Call the cam companies themselves, they will be able to give you a much better idea of where to start. Like I said, I've seen people have good results with the xe series and GT-40 stuff, but this is only second hand info.
