i need help removing these

i'm trying to replace the thermostat, waterpump gasket, and timing cover gasket.

i have the radiator and fan out, water pump off, but i can't get the thermostat housing off because i can't reach the bolt.....the distributor is in the way and i don't know how to take the distributor off to get to that bolt.

also do i need a special puller to get that lower pulley off so i can get the timing cover off to replace that gasket?

Get creative - thermostat cover will come off without removing the distributor.

I've only ever used a pulley remover tool when I worked on the crank pulley, but that's just because my father has one. Makes it real easy to get off.

I have a box end wrench that gets around everything, nothing special, you just don't get a lot of turn out of it, but it gets it off.

I coulda used that for my wife when I was married lol

As for the removing of stuff, look at from other angles.
Take the repair manual, turn to the page(s) outlining your repair, tear the shit outta 'em and start a fire. Then, have your neighbor come over and take a look at it.

Yeah - I don't get it. I even went out and looked just to see if I was losing it, but there they are (the nuts) clear as they've ever been. Attack from all angles!!

If its only a matter of a few more nuts and bolts, do it. Its gonna need to be changed eventually. You're already there...

You betcha...

If ya got an Advance Auto Parts, they offer a ZOOM brand. Its an upgraded unit over the OE type. Double roller design. I am sure that the other stores offer something similiar. I used to work for AAP and know what they sell. The SA Gear brand they (Advance) sells offers a Lifetime Warranty.

I'll just order a timing chain and gear set, any brand you recommend or any double roller design?
