Rear end issue
So when I got the car somebody had put 4.10 gears in it and it howls at cruise speed say pulling a hill or in a high gear 4th or 5th and low rpm around 2k. With the car on jack stands you can feel a good bit of play while turning the driveshaft in the rear end. Maybe around 1/4 inch. Other than that it sounds fine coasting and standing on the throttle
I am pulling it apart because the pinion seal is leaking, but I have never let run out of fluid. Do you guys think the backlash is off? I was thinking about just trying to set that, installing new seals and crush sleeve and roll with it or do I need to replace everything. |
