The turbo will get pretty hot. If you're hot lapping it, by the 3rd and 4th pass, that turbo can get up to 1600-1800 degrees by the 1/4 mile. Just having fun on the street you can see 1200-1500 degrees. A turbo blanket and heat wrap on the manifolds and downpipe will help but probably not enough to save that MSD box. I'd move it to be safe.

I have my MSD in the drivers side fenderwell, kind of behind the washer fluid bottle on the sheet metal on the opposite side of the starting solenoid. Not ideal for easy access because you have to come in through the wheel well but it stays cool and once it is in there, it is out of sight, out of mind. It has been there for years without issue so far. You can get all of the wires easily through the gap where you fill up the washer bottle. Just an option for you....

a turbo blanket, and fully rapping the exhaust/down pipe is a great mod period. LOTS of extra heat is going to be under that hood now.

and I would go with "nolife's" suggestion if I was you, would be the easiest.

Does on 3 performance recommend running a bigger radiator?

I would mount inside the car as well if possible. You can even mount the MSD in trunk/hatch if needed.

I am not heat wrapping my hotside at all. Wait after awhile and with the rain, heat cycles, ect it wont look so great.

a heat blanket would be a good idea though.

The only down side to wraping your downpipe would be that it promotes rust and tends to rust out the pipe rather quickly in the great north east but isn't the on3 shit now all stainless? if not i'd probably only wrap the section close to shit and leave the rest open if so but a turbo shield or blanket is the shit
