MSD install help?
I am tryin to install a msd 5 ignition and coil on my 90 lx it had a old motorcraft ignition so Wiring it by the standerd way for ford did not work I am trying to install it by the general wiring instructions I have everything on the diagram but it says to run - wire from the points or electronic amplifier to the white wire on the msd box. I have a purple, orange and black wire coming from my distribitor that are attatched to a plug.I am also suppose to connect from the ignition switch to the coil? What do I need to look for?Please help.

i have an 89 gt efi and msd 6btm. when i installed mine there was a positive, negative and then disconnect the clip on the coil and pos. and a neg. went to coil itself and pos. and neg. went to clip.
