Traction issue

Went to the strip today and ran a 14.3 with a 107.63 mph trap speed, but I spin through the 60 ft and it was a 2.84. The car just wont hook ive got bbk subframes and moroso drag springs, 90/10 front struts and 50/50 rear shocks the lake wood traction action bars suck so i took them off tonight. The car is capable of low 12's high elevens. I dynoed at 319 horse and 331 ftlbs of torque, it is a 5 speed car with 3:73 rear end. Any help would be great and would like to know what everyone runnin these times have suspension wise Thanks.........

Yeah you seem to have an ok suspension but if it is on street tires it aint worth shit.. Get some slicks... What size and type of tire are you running?

What air pressure (tires) are you running at the track? Play around with that a little.

Throw those tire in the garbage and put some slicks on it. 26x8.5-15 will be plenty at that power level. At that mile an hour you are looking at 12.40s or so.

If your gunna be keepin those tires for a little bit, try and dog it out of the whole a little, it should help it not spin so much, but you'll still have a a slow 60ft cause of the slow roll

If you don't wanna go slicks and risk an axle( the only reason I won't run em) then go up a few sizes in tire. I believe you should be able to go up to around a 275/40 which I run out back on a 17, but that's a SN95 not a fox body. I would think atleast a 265 in a 16 would hook alot better than a 245..........

So lemme get this straight, you were running a passenger performance radial tire with directional tread and getting 2.80 60 foots and from that you inferred that the lakewood traction action bars

You either have traction or you don't. Traction breaks stock parts no matter what tire you have on it. Axles don't break because they have a set of slicks attached to them. They break because they are abused. You can break axles with street tires.

I have 275\40\17 on the back of my Fox and I used to have drag radials that size on there. There is no difference. Drag radials are usless on a 17 inch wheel.. There is no give in the sidewall wether you are running street tires or drag radials.. The only way you are gonna get great performance out of drag radials is get 15 inch rims and put drag radials on them. They have lots of forgiving sidewall cushion... Other than that slicks is the way to do and I recommend a 15 inch tire also. I am runnin the Hoosier 26x9x15 with tubes.. A little trick when mounting slicks with tubes.. Rub the tubes down with baby powder so when the tire slips on the rim it wont twist your tube with it.. And yes slicks do spin on the rim sometimes unless you have the tires screwed to the rim...
