Engine ??

Okay, Let's start this off. My dad has a engine out of a 73 Ford Van (He thinks it's a 73) He put 4 valve release pistons in it it has a steel crank and forged rods. It has no cam, intake, or heads. Will the heads intake and cam from my stock 1991 mustang gt fit on this motor?

If it's not a big block, yes. But you will need linkbar roller lifters.

Really?! I didn't think they would fit! Awesome! So everything will fit all I need are those roller lifters? How much are they.

400 bucks give or take. What is this motor that you speak of though? 351 or bigger?

Is there a reason you want to switch blocks?

Are the pistons in the new motor forged?? Because your factory ones are. I also beleive the early model 302's were 28 oz balance, and your's is a 50 oz. If it were mine, I'd ring and bearing your orignal motor and it will be good for another 178,000!

I dought the van motor would have a steel crank, because I don't think 302's came factory with one(except for orignal BOSS 302)and a aftermarket steel crank is about $600. Really not worth it for a 73 Van.

Also, I'm an idiot for not seeing that you said intake.. with what you're doing will work, but if someone else reads this I don't want them to think that a 302 intake will work on a 351.

Same as you have now... well that all depends on the compression of both, but it won't really be anything noticeable even if it is higher compression by a point or so. If you're rings aren't bad, keep running the engine you have now until it goes.
