I would love to do this so much. I just honestly don't think I myself am capable of it...

if you can do a clutch job you can do this. the hardest part is changing out the pedal assy. just pull the steering shaft out of the car and it makes it a ton easier. there are tons of write ups on line. study them and it won't be a problem. i did the entire swap and only had to look at a manual for the torque specs.

I had this done on my car by a local guy and he did in all in 1 day. It is definetly worth it! That AOD trans makes this car run in the 16's! You get a gear and T5 swap it will be a high 13's low 14's car. Bigtime difference in performance!

![]() don't get peoples hopes up. I did drop an entire second from my ET just with the swap, but there is no way in hell you are dropping 3 seconds from your ET from a transmission swap.

Yeah, I was going to say something, but it's not my place to call out.

I am getting ready to do this same swap. I bought everything except for the tranny. Once I get the tranny I will be able to get it done. but I got a t5 bell housing, engine plate, good used clutch, MT flywheel, clutch pedals, and a clutch cable all for about 275.00 Im pretty sure thats everything I need besides the tranny.

All I know is that my car with the AOD and stock AOD gears felt like a slug. Maybe it could have hit a high 15 but it was really dam slow! I dropped more than a second cause at the time of the trans swap I had my rear gear changed to a 373.

If you can change your intake, you can do the swap. I printed out one of the writeup's that I found online with pictures, and it was easy. I did it at my buddies shop with a hoist and air tools though. I got it done in 8 hours, but if I had to do it again in his shop, I think I could do it in 6. The pedal assembly is the biggest bitch of the whole deal, no lie there. Fortunately for me, it didn't cost me anything since my buddy was looking to go AOD. I got a pretty beat up tranny out of it, but I knew what I was getting and it was still worth it to me. He got a pretty freshly rebuilt AOD with a PA valvebody, and he already has smoked the clutches in it. We think his trans pressures were off though and his TV cable was never adjusted right.

ya hangin the pedals were a whore..save yourself the time and pull the drivers seat and steering colum. will help greatly.but so worth the time. i had 3.27 gears and then went to the 3.73 .thought bout 3.90 but think that would be a bit much.i got a w/c t5, pedals. from a local junk yard for 500.then bough the clutch assembly new.just do it .you will not regret it
