Voltage problem

Hey guys I have a bit of an electrical issue. When I turn my car to the on position everything in the car works as far as electrical components go. Once I start the car the A/C stops working so does my turn signal and dome light. I found that if i turn my ignition back just a little before cutting it off the A/C starts working again but my turn signals dont and neither does my dome light. Also tonight when I was driving my voltage meter went up between 16 and 18 volts then when I stopped to idle it went back to normal except when I slowed down the battery light popped on for a split second then went off. The only thing I have done recently is change both battery cables because the old ones were corroded. Let me know if you can help. I appreciate it.

Sounds like you need an ignition switch

Put a multi-meter on there and see what's really going on. It could be that you have a loose connection on one of the new cables, or your regulator is on it's way out. First problem definitely sounds like the switch.
