Temp Gauge Help

Ok heres my question, does anyone know of another loction to install the sensor for my aftermarket temp gauge OTHER THAN where my stock one is right now? I bought a triple gauge set becuase everyone tells me how mine arent accurate at all and I'd like to keep the stock ones working becuase it just wouldnt look right if they didnt. I figured out the volts and oil pressure gauges and this one has me stumped, maybe I'm just looking too hard. Any ideas?

It is a Sunpro manual gauge, the style with the long copper capillary tubing.

Well like he said why dont you just tap into the wires for the stock location? Just a second thought I have seen over the years that SunPro is not known fo their accuracy.. Maybe they have gotten better I dont know..

Its not an electrical gauge, or I would just tap into the wire. I was just wondering if anyone knew of another location on the engine that I could take say a bolt out and screw the sensor for the new gauge in. So far not looking so good.

Well according to the instructions you posted you fall under the computer controlled section. It is an electrical gauge and it states that you need to mount the new sender in a different location. What do you mean by not an electrical gauge? The only gauge that I know of are oil & fuel pressure gauges that come in two types, 1. The mechanical type that requires you to run a small oil or fuel line to the gauge to read pressure 2. The electrical kind that uses a sensor.. A non electrical gauge would have a line running to the gauge and that would not work with temp gauges because the fluid filled line would cool way off and it also would need to be circulated to gat a reading.. I think you are mixed up.. You do have a electrical gauge

look for a plug in a water jacket on the cylinder head somewhere around the exhaust

I do fall under the computer controlled section, which when read further states that I cannot use the spot that the stock sensor is in, as the computer uses it for engine management purposes. My sensor IS NOT electrical. The only electical connection on it is for the lighting. It has a copper sensor on one end which connects to the gauge through a roughly 6 ft thin copper lead. No fluid or air runs through this as it is sealed on both ends. Im telling you it is a mechanical gauge, I know how to install it. All I was asking was if anyone has any info on where an additional "tap" into the flow of coolant would be on the engine so I can install it and keep the computer controlled one in place.

Do you know if that is the one that goes to the computer or is that just for the gauge? If its just for the gauge I'll put it there but if its what the instructions were talking about then I cant use that one.

There is only one temp sensor on the stock system and it is the temp sensor that sends the signal to the computer... So you cant use that one.. Y dont you just get rid of that SunPro crap and get an electrical unit.. Other than that you are gonna prob have to drill and tap another hole in your manifold if you dont have a plug in there already...

I've put them in a radator, Removed the old one and put my new one in. I didn't know if you had exhaust one which is spliced into the o2 sensor, Oil temp which is put into a couple places itself. Of course drilling a hole in the radator is tricky.

One of these three hopefully. This manifold is the same as mine, but I dont have a garage so I'll have to investigate in the morning.
