vortech with no fmu help
i have vortech s-trim and recently upgraded fuel system. my tuner told me to do away with the fmu, as did a few of you in here. i did. my problem is my blow off valve, msd btm, and my boost gauge all ran off that line. now where do i reference boost for those things? also just got the anderson mr. freeze, where do i reference boost for that also ?

My FMU attaches to the same place on the manifold that my other vaccuum lines run (through a 1 to 7 claw looking adapter). Sounds like your other devices were sharing the same line so attach them to the manifold or tap into another line already attached to the manifold.

nolife what year is your car mine is an 89 gt hatch. my vac. block on my firewall doesnt look like that. its on the driver side and looks like an E pointing down but with 5 lines and it looks like you have a main source on the claw. i cant see where my main source comes from. i have my brake booster, pcv from upper manifold, smog, one that goes to another vac. block on passenger side that kinda looks like yours but its rubber(maybe that the source) and one that was left blank from factory thats were my fmu was attached.

I guess my picture does suck. It is an 88 with a Systemax upper/lower.
That claw thing is on my upper intake manifold, the large black vac line in the center supplies the vac block on the firewall that we all have that you are talking about. Not that it matters but the line closest to the left in my picture runs to my FMU. Basically, all vaccuum lines I have are sourced from this device attached to the manifold so you could technically connect your vac sensitive devices to any directly connected vaccuum line and they should read and work correctly. If you are out of lines to attach to, use the one your FMU was attached to and get a tee connection.
