Can a 84 mustang taillights, be replace with aftermarket taillights of an 88?

How bought the headlights?

I believe you can do a front end conversion so it will be like a 87-93 fox. The tail lights not real sure.

Yes the tail lights will work and yes you need to change the front end to be able to use the head lights.

i have the 89-94 lx lenses on my 83 the fit just fine getting the old ones out was a bitch the guy who had this car before me glued one of the lenses on after doing a really shitty patch job.

87-93 is the same, 94 is way different. If you have 87-93 headlights in your car then you also have an 87-93 front bumper cover because the 87-93 headlights will not fit in the 79-86 "4 eye" bumper cover.

sorry meant 93 not 94 does any one know if the rear bumper covers are the same on an 87 up lx as an 83?

The rear bumper cover are different in appearance, molding lines and the mustang lettering, etc. but the will swap out. As for the rear light you can use your housing and swap lenses. Just take your time cutting out the lenses and not break them. Someone might want them later if they are in good shape.
