Thanks guys for the info. I'm getting it checked in a couple of weeks.
Hopefully the hp will be close to that. Then i have to figure out what first mod to start with. Probably work on the exhaust/try to get the sound!

If you mean by gettint your car "tested" You mean a dyno? If so remember those stock hp numbers mentioned before is flywheel hp not rear wheel hp. Prob see 160-180 hp to the wheels at the most in total stock and by total I mean not even the air silencer being removed in the intake...

Excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean by flywheel hp, and yes, by testing i mean on the dyno. Also , a downer from the start, a new 2007 v6 has the same or more hp than my 92 5.0. Am i figuring this right?

Thanks for the advice on the exhaust. Will the flowmaster 40's, h pipes and dumps and lontube headers give the car the deep rumble? Newbie

Flywheel hp is the hp that is generated at the flywheel. When you get a dyno tune done it is rear wheel hp . If a car has 400hp that transalates to approx 340-360 rear wheel hp there is always loss from the trans driveshaft rearend ect... A manual trans has less hp loss than an automatic..

93 Engines were the same as 92 and older save for the forged internals.....the only difference is that Ford switched the way they rate hp/tq that is why you see a decrease in hp/tq or so I've been told

yes...but it depends...if it is a cobra or a saleen they all made different numbers...but the LX and GT made roughly the same horsepower...even though i've heard that the LX 302 is actually a little stronger than the GT, go figure...cuz the GT was the ALL options mustang
