overheating problems

i have an 89 gt 5.0, i recently replaced the waterpump, thermostat, radiatior and all the hoses, and for some reason it still gets way to hot!! i have no idea what else it could be? it runs cooler with the radiator cap off. but when i put it back on there it immediatley starts getting hot and eventually blows one of the hoses off? can someone please give me some more info. im pretty new to the whole mechanic part of this.
