Differential Fluid Type Advice Needed

I am preparing to perform a diff service on my 87 Notch. I am finding 2 different answers when I ask what fluid type I need. I have been told to run regular 80-90 with the trans x posi trac additive, and i have others telling me to run 80-90 synthetic hypoid. Not sure which to run and I dont want to put the wrong stuff in there! Any advice would be great

3rd it. Just put a Truetrac in mine, and DTS ( Drive Train Services ) recommends the dino oil rather than syn. Obviously I don't need to friction modifier, but I'm going to stay with the petroleum based lube.

Cool. Second....I have about half of a 7 oz. tube of the Trans X brand stuff. Should that be enough? I think total capacity for the diff is 2.25 qts
