See....here's the thing. If it's not a problem with something that needs to be replaced, than I see no reason I shouldn't be good. I got a guy near me that has the same car except his is like an 88; however he put the 92 spindles on it. He has the same exact wheels, same size tires, and is dropped...he may rub once in a blue moon, but nothing close to what I have with no drop at all.
Fender rolling... maybe needed. The point is...there has to be a problem to fix; in all my research there isn't enough difference between my car and others out there with this exact setup that do not have those issues. The thing wrong, based on what I've been reading here, can be struts, springs, or bushings. Why not replace em all? I'm already doing struts and spings...past that the other options were cheap. At the same time I'll be doing the rack/pinion w/ tie rod ends and new end links. You'd like to hope I'm covering a lot of bases with all that. Again, I know to expect SOME rub...but seriously, the slight changes in elevation that make my nose dive to far is no where near right. Heck, if you guys see the pictures in my 'intro' thread you'll see my driveway is nearly flat...well I rub just pulling into my driveway from the street- it's crazy. Tossing in the picture just so you see how ridiculous it is. It's just a few inches up from the road and a slow slope.

It is an original 5.0; however, to update the thread, I replaced the struts and endlinks last week and the rubbing is gone. Each end link had 2 bushings that were REALLY worn and nearly non existent. I also went ahead and did my rack and pinion, which REALLY needed to be replaced, but I'm sure that had nothing to do with the rubbing. The world is good again.
Now...how I see people w/ C Springs and these wheels without having rolled their fenders I don't know...but I'll get to that later. mustangtommy, your's looks dropped, yes? - Did you roll the fenders? |

Those people probably have a rim with different backspacing then yours? I have 17x9's and they are no where near hitting the fender on either of my foxes but they do rub the A arms near full lock on both of them (one fox is lowered 1.5 with some unknown Eibach springs and the other is old ass soggy stock suspension). I could probably "fix it" with some 1/8 inch or 3/32 spacers but for now, I just avoid turning it near full lock.
