Holley Systemax intake manifold
Will this bolt up to a sn95 5.0 with the elbow adapter just as the GT 40 intake will? I'm thinking about saving up for it! I would appreciate any input from anyone running this setup! thanks

I don't have flow information in front of me but I don't recall the Saleen intakes flowing anywhere near a Systemax. No they are not rare. They are on Ebay and Racingjunk all the time.

Hmmmm...maybe i am confused or biased, because I don't ever see any Saleens around my area. I've only seen them online, or I saw one once while I was in Washington D.C. at the dealership.

[QUOTE=1slo5.0;3257965]Yes it will fit. I'd take it a step further and get rid of the elbow and set the air intake up like a fox body.
You mean just run a CAI right into it? Guess I'm not sure what you mean by setting the air intake up like a fox body?

What other mods do you have and what is your current intake? What gains are you expecting to get out of the Systemax? If you are running out of umph in the low 5k region, the Systemax might not get you much bang for the buck.

He means changing the TB to a fox style and then running your intake tube up to that, eliminating the elbow. Look at a picture of a foxbody intake set-up and compare it to yours and you'll know what he's talking about.

saleens aren't rare at all, I know of several saleens from 94-04 in my area ( new orleans ) that i see on a daily basis. There is a Dr. that live a couple miles from me that collects saleens, and has a saleen from every generation except the 2011, and he plans to order that by the end of the year.

It's all stock, plan on just running a street/strip car that will only be driven during the summer. Thinking about just running the GT-40 intake, but in the end when all is said n done I probably would like to get around 400 hp out of it. I'm not really sure either what kind of price I should be paying for the upper n lower Gt-40. I like the power band of the stock motor actually, the only issue is the acceleration out of first gear, which I know can be solved with gears. What kind of power band am I looking at with the Holley?

saleen/vortech manifolds ported don't come close to a unported systemax2 and they aren't really that rare, it's just they were produced for a short time and was over priced when compared to others.

Agreed .. A buddy of mine has a vortex intake from years ago and the ports seem real small, that's why its just sitting there collecting dust II guess....

If you are wanting 400 HP you are definately going to need something besides GT40 stuff unless you are going to go FI.
Not trying to thread jack but 89GT did you ever get your problem fixed from when you put in the intake spacer? You might need to buy an intake and keep it, rather than flipping it....

Saleens flow about 220cfm stock and 250cfm once you open them to a 1250 size head port. Haven't taken one bigger than that yet. Static flow is DIRECTLY proprotional to the runner cross section and length. The stock Saleen runner section at the head flange is smallish and definately smaller than a Holley. The Saleen is a "little brother" to the SystemaxII which flows ~255-260cfm stock.
