Max Hp for stock 1987 5.0 block

Hi everyone,

I have a 19897 GT with a lot of bolt ons and a super charger. The Snow Meth is not working or tuned yet. I have 373 HP and 380 torque to the rear wheels. My MSD 6-al2 packed it in and I ran the last race of the season with it bypassed. I over revved spinning in 2nd gear. I blew the head gaskets.

My question is this, I have to replace the head gaskets, so I thought I would also have
installed TFS-51400010-C01 heads and a Comp Cam 35-556-8 cam. I figure with the meth, heads and cam I would be close if not over 500 rwhp. Can my motor last if I run it 30 passes a year. (or more). I know you can blow up anytime. but wanted some opinions.
Not in my sig, a new 2 stage clutch. Also B&M shifter gone, replaced with Steeda Tri-ax

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.

If your balance is good, and you keep the rpms in check, I think you could get many passes out of it, That being said, you are at the block splitting point at 500rwhp, but many have more and survive more. Call it an average, but that is the going rate. You can always pull some timing out to stay below 500 if it concerns you. Just save the pennies for an aftermarket block since you will be considered by many to be on 'borrowed time'

I hear you . I was thinking of shifting between 5800 and 6000 nrpm. Hoping to make it last.

Thanks

Hell, if you are running just a stock block/stock rotating assembly, let her buck and if she splits just pick up another, lol. But yeah, you have the right idea imo.
