possible new project?

so a friend of mine got his hands on a roots style supercharger from a pathfinder. we are thinking of making a custom adapter plate for the charger to the lower intake and another adapter to mount the throttle body to the charger. and we would use pully combinations to get the boost toa level we awant, he is a custom engine builder here in northern Va. and has built tons of custom setups. but i wonder if it would be more money thatn its worth versus just buying a "made for a mustang" SC kit.

any input?

Thanks.

Depending on how much time and money you are willing to invest, but it would def be a one-off Stang, that would be an item to attract attn.

or an item for people to say why the hell did you do that? Sorry but I would probably look at it as something thrown together, I would just buy a chager made for the car you want, instead of trying to rig up parts from other cars to work.....

thanks guys, thats why i asked. i have looked for a used charger for my car but i havent had much luck. i did find one but it wasnt the whole kit. just the charger ( which looks ol' n busted) mounting brkt, and the intake tube ( that looked like a homemade job) and a pump that looked like it had seen better days, and they were asking 900 for the setup. i missed out right after i got the car, i saw a paxton NOVI2000 complete kit on CL for 500 bucks and my first thought was "na, i dont want to super charge a convertible" stupid me. where is a good place to look for a reseanably priced used SC kit?

Buy a sc setup for a mustang...You will be much happier and save alot of money in the long run...

Plus root style blowers on 5.0's dont work out that well...Go with a centri or a turbo setup...

A few of my friends rock the on3 turbo setup on their 5.0's...

what would i expect to pay for a single turbo setup and what kind of performance should i see. already have intake, throttle body, ignition, cold air intake ( that would go away, right?) and headers ( again, that would go away too, right?) with off-road h pipe and flowmasters.

Turbo Kits for Ford Mustangs

Several friends of mine are running this kit for the 5.0's...They all replaced couplers, tbolt clamps, and bead rolled their pipes and are running it happily into the 6's in the 1/8th...
