Normal temp reading?

I just put a new radiator, cap, and 195 degree t-stat in and was wondering what the factory gauge should read.

The gauge says 130 at the bottom and 270 at the top so the middle should be 200 (and about where my gauge should run if its heating up properly), but i'm running quite a bit under that. I'm guessing the factory gauge is about as sh1tty as most 20 y/o factory guages are and its just plain wrong.

As a side note, i took out a 192 degree t-stat and it ran at the same level with that one too. I was thinking someone had put a lower temp one in, but i guess not.

**edit** I tried to attach a pic but that doesnt want to work. But the gauge reads a few mm's above the 3rd bar

Factory gauge is shit, you would need to hook up a mechanical gauge to see what the temp really is. Mine is way off, it starts right above the 130 for me. I just use the 'hope it's good' method for now. LOL

I think it is 210; and like they said, don't trust your stock gauge.
