Possible to modify a HYPERTECH chip?

so i bought a hyper tech chip thinking it was a direct match for my car and that it would work. its an off the shelf one that is supposed to be for stock or nearly stock set ups and just give a slight tune. got it for like 35 bucks off craigslist.

anyways i called hypertech support they said theyre chips are vehicle specific. this chip will only work on ECU's in fox's that are...
-hard top
-factorry 5.0
-factory 5 spd

and possibly a couple of mother requirements. my problem is that, my car was factory AUTOMATIC. anyway you guys think i can modify my ecu or chip into thinking it is correct? idk if its even possible.... maybe

Like more of a gentle and caring mom, or more of a stern, disciplinary type? Or are we talking straight up MILF?

Sorry, couldn't help myself

I wouldn't even bother with it. I have seen off the shelf chips actually slow foxbodys down a few 10ths in the 1/4. Just advance the timing & you will get a better result for free!!!

you may as well get rid pf the chip. Think of it as a $35 mistake, you got off cheap. It also sounds like you would have to spend a but load of money trying to get a $35 dollar part to work
