What Thermostat Do I Need?

I have a 1995 mustang GT with a few bolt-ons. What thermostat do i need. Will low temp make it run better or should i stick with the stock 195*? I think i might have a low temp in there now. The engine temperature isn't showing normal temp. It is a little low. What is a good temp for my engine? Do mods make a difference in what temperature i need to run?

swapping to a 180* t-stat isnt a bad idea, and might give you a little extra power. when you pull the old t-stat out, just look for the temp rating on it somewhere. but as cheap as they are, you might as well swap in the new one anyway.

My vote is for the 180. I have a few bolt ons, supercharger, exhaust, gears, and use a 180 with a 2 core radiator. By the way, don't use a 160 if you're thinking about it, you're engine won't get warm enough to run properly.

180 ftw. Unless you drive in the winter and would like it to be a little warmer inside, lol.

My car came with a 160 when I bought it, I haven't experienced any problems because of it.

Unless you are chipped for a 160 (which I still personally wouldn't do) you shouldn't run one. Your car will thank you for it.

I might change it, I have an electric fan hooked up to ignition anyway.

I would go 180- if you do a 160, then you would need to modify the computer to accomodate
