I'm almost positive it slips right in...I've seen this swap into a plymouth starion and it looked just like a bone stock 5.0 in a stang'

that motor will have gt40p heads on it so you'll have to watch the headers...i made stock 5.0 headers work and my bbk longtubes clear just fine...what intake do you have now the explorer intakes are the same as a cobra intake

youll need to swap the timing cover over from your old motor if you want to run your accesories...you can use the 75mm throttle body on the cobra intake but the inlet on the intake is only 70mm so id port it to match the throttle body

i didn't think about the heads being "p" heads. but with bbk headers you should still be good on that. like said just swap over your timing cover, wp, and accessories and toss her in. and good idea with the rear main, might wanna throw a oil pan gasket on there too since that'd be a bitch if it started leaking after it was in the car.

yeah well my crank took the timing cover out. my car had a double roller chain on it. is there a good place to buy a kit for it? ive been looking its elusive.

so id be sticking an 88 era timing cover on a 2000 engine. id like to run a double roller.
i see plenty of roller setups but no covers. ??? go figure. seems most of the roller setups i see for a 302 are only applicable up to 1995. whats so different about this mountaineer engine?

and yes i have bbk longtube headers

LRS has timing covers, and the double rollers are probably only listed to 1995 because thats the last year of the 5.0 in mustangs
