job of wire on ignition lock


there is 1 wire leading off of the ignition cylinder lock (the key piece), were does that wire go to and what is its job??

If it's anything like the new edges it grounds out when you insert your key and makes the chiming sound when you've get the keys in the ignition and the door open it's something to remind you not to leave your keys in the car.

if i added a wire to bypass all the stuff in between the ignition switch and the ignition coil in the engine bay to get the starter to turn, would this work?

what are you trying to do? it looks to me like you just made it so the car will never turn off. that wire would keep the eec relay hot all the time how you have it in the schematic. that is the run circuit, not the start circuit

On my car the starter wire at the switch was white/pink. But yea you can run the starter wire from the ignition switch straight to the starter solenoid to the thin red/blue wire(that's the color on mine).
