Question thats been asked a thousand times

Ok ive got a completly stock 90 LX.I getting ready to put every bolt-on under the sun on it.Pulleys,CAI,headers,h-pipe,and so on.Now the question is,with a stock intake and heads,What size TB should i go for 65mm or 70mm?.Also would there be any benefit by adding aftermarket 73mm C&L Mass Air Meter?

65mm would be fine for now, but do you have any plans of doing a h/c/i or fi down the road? if yes then might as well go for the bigger as it wont hurt anything now and help later.

the maf prolly will add a little bit but prolly not enough to justify the price of it. i would wait to upgrade maf's until you need to up your injector size.

Im gonna have about 2grand to spend.I figured that wasnt enough for the h/c/i plus new TB,injectors and all the supporting mods,PLUS the install price.Thats why for now i was just gonna do all the bolt-ons first. What do you think?

what do you want the car for? do you want to go fast or slowly build it? that's the big question here. because if you want to make the car go fast, i say spend about 1k on buying some used parts such as longtubes, midpipe, mufflers, udp's, cai, etc. then buy some decent drag radials, and spend the rest on nitrous.

I would like a quick street car.I also am installing 4.10'sWhat im thinking is get all the supporting mods for now, like the bolt ons and gears and drag radials. Then save some more for the h/c/i.That way ill have everything already.

Wow... Someone with a plan and doing it the right way. You don't see that every day on here, lol.

Side note: Stock TB is 60mm and stock maf is 58mm. You can do the math I'm sure. Stock intake I would do a 65mm (I have one for sale if you are interested) and stay far away from the C&L in my opinion. I had bad results along with many, many other people, although Hatch is using one now. If you really want one that bad, I have the 76mm C&L with intake tube for sale too.

you may also want to put a little bit of money into suspension. you wont need it much with just bolt ons but once you start making decent power you will. by suspension i mean u/l control arms, struts/shocks, and maybe some springs. plus sub frame connectors.

Careful with strut tower brace. Not many work with aftermarket intakes.

Should, just don't run a upper to lower spacer either. 70mm and port the stocker for now. I have 2 of them for sale too if you are interested. One BBK and one Accufab. The 65mm is a bbk

Yeah, but it's easy. Die grinder or cordless drill (cuz they spin faster than corded) but it would just take longer.

i'd go 70mm. and you wont need to port your stock intake. it'll bolt right up to it and work fine, but the tb will just be larger than the intake so you wont get quite as much of a gain from it, but the porting isn't necessary.
