Stock heads? Don't waste your money on rocker arms unless you need them for aftermarket heads. They gain you zero horsepower.

how can increasing your lift not gain you any HP? if you increase lft you inevitably increase a small amount of duration because of the increased lift. almost the same as changing to a higher lift cam. i just can't see how you can't gain HP?!

Why would you upgrade rockers on stock heads. If there was a gain, you wouldnt feel it because it would be so little IF ANY.

Rockers arent cheap. You could put the money spent on rockers somewhere else where it will give you more gains. Wait til you get better heads.

What is done to your car? that will give us a good starting point. But i will list mods and if you have them, then disregard.

Gears: 3:73-4:30. you choose
exhaust: something like long tubes, off road h or x pipe (if emissions allow) and then whatever muffler suits you
underdrive pullies
Top end kit: comes with rockers that work good with the head that is in the package.
throttle body, MAF, injectors
suspension

That should keep you busy for awhile, unless you have money, and if thats the case, hook a brotha up!

i think i have the 3.73's. i'll have to check for sure, but they do seem pretty steep. well it has the factiry shorty headers, off road pipe (no H or X) with duals. don't know what muffs but the car is pretty deep and throaty. and thats it as far as i know. i've only had it a month or 2. i think the CAI will be first and then a good ignition tune with the all the MSD goodies!

I wouldnt waste my money on pedestal mount rockers period. If you buy aftermarket heads you want to buy stud mount anyhow, then your pedestal mount rockers arent gonna be worth shit. So save your money till you buy an aftermarket head.

The MSD stuff isnt really something you want yet. The stock system works just fine until you are pushing more power.

How much money do you have? A top end kit will put you well into the 300 hp range and will wake your car up. That is my suggestion but of course it is your car and your money so do whatever pleases you.

If you put a set of 1.7 rocker arms on in place of the stock 1.6 ratio rockers you might gain 8-10 horsepower. MIGHT. You'd be better off putting that money toward gears, shifter, underdrive pullies or an intake manifold.

2.73 gears and 3.08 gears were optional.

the sbf motor is a rock solid piece to start with. is your car converted to mass air? thats a good first mod. also if your car is 5 speed invest in a shifter, clutch, flywheel and aluminum drive shaft. it makes no difference how much power you make if you can't efficiently get it to the wheels. plus transmissions are the biggest mustang flaws. not that its not tough enough, but the stock shifter has no stops and enables you to "overshift" your stang. overshifting is pushing the shift forks into the adjacent gear when power shifting. this is what makes the t5 appear so weak. there are tons of things you can do to to your car that will prepare you for the inevitable h/c/i/swap. good luck

Well compared to your anemic monte carslow, you might think so, but in reality a stock stang is pretty much a dog. JMO
