1966 Mustang with 1994 5.0 dipstick relocation

i wanted to do a T5 conversion for my coupe. i got a 5.0 HO and T5 from a 1994 GT. i got rid of the remaining fuel injection stuff on the engine when i got it and put a new intake and carburetor on it. we also swapped oil pans. it finally started last night.
(video with more detail for those interested in the process)

but now, the problem...i read about relocating the dipstick to the front timing chain cover but apparently that will not work in a 94-95 5.0.

the engine is obviously in the car now which makes it trickier...where should i relocate it?

any help would be appreciated.

if you were able to get your hands on an older carb timing cover, you could still use a front mounted dipstick. but you would need to find a way to block off the dipstick hole on the side of the block. This would be less of an issue if you had the engine out, i'd say take the oil pan off and use a small freeze plug to seal the hole... however.... this is not the case.

One option you do have is a LOKAR aftermarket dipstick tube, from the hole in the side of the block. It has a flexible tube and will allow you to run it away from the engine, to where ever you want it.

yeah i was hoping i could avoid buying something else though.

but the dipstick tube fits where it is, but since i had to change the oil pans it just scrapes into the high spot on the oil pan. when the engine is cold and it has the right amount of oil, there won't be any oil up there will there? i thought of just shortening the dipstick...the car is at an angle right now so i can't tell

also, i read about a guy who used a wooden dowel to plug the old hole
