T5 Trashed
well on the way home tonight my 3rd gear granaded, and now i have a expensive lawn ornament. just wondering if anyone has rebuilt one of these and if so, whats it envolve. and wheres a good place to get a rebuild kit.or would i be better off getting a new one, been looking at the 3550 or a TKO any ideas? Thanks Jim

When my t-5 went out, I just went and threw a TKO 600 in, no complaints, one of the best things ive done to my car yet.

if u whant to rebuilt u can buy a kit from summit i think jegs has them 2 i think my tko is on the way out 2

My t-5 was whining to the point people swore up and down I had a KB in the car and thought it was a 10 sec car lol.

lmao  thats what my 3rd sounded like. my friend that owned the car before me, told me that the seal had gone out of the tranny and run out of oil before he got it, which was about 7 years ago, so i guess i can't complane it has lasted this long. i found a great company in FL that has trannys for sale. they quoted me a price of 2094 for a T56 it includes clutch, bell housing, master/slave cylinder, tail shaft, everything but shifting lever and clutch pedels. they also gave me a price of 950 for a T5 HD.

well pulled the tranny today, have at least one broken syncro and a gear thats missing a few teath. does anyone know how to get the damn tranny completly apart?
