85 trans question
i am working on my friends 85 lx 2.3l and the 5spd trans is jammed in neutral does anyone have any info to help solve this problem or better yet a diagram of how the trans is put together any help would be great thanks

 You usually have to press in the clutch to put it into gear. Have you tried that yet  Other than the smartass comment... I got nothing

yes the shifter inside is jammed in neutral between third and fourth gear

it sounds like a clutch problem...maybe the throw out bearing. Try pumping the clutch with the car running and pulling it into neutral.

i have the trans out of the car now and its an internal problem its jammed in neutral and over to the side like in between third and fourth gear so i guess something broke in the gearbox

turned out to be a worn out tail shaft housing
