Gauge cluster question

ok i have a 1995 mustng v6 body with a v8 motor in it, the question i have is, i have the v6 120 mph cluster still and i wanna swap it out to the v8 one, is it a direct swap? or is there re-wiring needed?

thanks

Should be a rewiring because the gauge is gonna read off by a lot if the engines are moving faster. but then again it could just need the speed calibrator fixed by a shop.

Im pretty sure its just a direct swap... the VSS is a signal that is calculated off the transmission and so it sends an electrical signal to the cluster... I would try it...

should be a direct swap. The wiring didnt change for the clusters until the 4.6l engine IIRC

ok cool, i figured it would be because these clusters have mechanical speedo gauges which means it reads how fast the car is going regardless of the engine, thats what led me to believe it would work, i just wasnt sure about the wiring
