underdrive pulley question...

Is there really that much of a performance gain with aluminum pulleys as opposed to steel pulleys? I'm looking to get the March Performance pulleys and the steel set is like $55 and the Aluminum set is like $135. Is it really worth the extra money or should i put that money towards somthing else?

I use the steel pulleys I didn't think there would be a big power difference between the 2

I concur if there is a 10 pound difference it is not worth the 100 bux. Not to mention the steel would be safer, because they will not crack. Aluminum may crack in the long term, due to torque and production defects.

Not worth buying if you don't buy aluminum. Check out ASP pulleys.

In the automotive world, you do get what you pay for... I know. I sold auto parts for nearly half my working career...

So I guess my original question still remains unanswered... Is Aluminum really woth the extra money?? will steel still give me the advertised 12.5 hp gain just as much as aluminum will?

Steel will give you the results you are looking for. Yes.

Like most of us on here, we need to make sacrifices and choices. If the aluminum pulleys are within you budget, get them. If not, the steel is a fine choice.

I dont think any pully's are gonna give you 12.5rwhp. I have the steel march pully's and they work fine. You dont feel no power difference but the car will rev quicker giving the illusion of a power gain, you may get 5rwhp depending on your other mods.
