Engine Mounts!

I have a 95 stang with a cobra swap in it. I have a feeling that the engine mounts are going bad. The car is shaking more than normal at idle and when i rev the car really high the whole car vibrates like the engine is unbalanced or something.

I really don't want to buy the 100 dollar ones off of american muscle. Anyone know a cheeper place? I also would like to know if there is a cheeper ones from a different older mustang. Which engine mounts fit my car. Will cougar ones fit? Ford Explorer ones? I need some help. I'm poor lol

Samething happened to me,they break where you they bolt up to the motor well atleast mine did,the car vibrated after 3k or so and got worst,if you replace your mounts get O.E ones and get the convertable mounts, there stronger from what i hear and there the sameones I have.I put them on,omfg i went from a Mustang to a Lexus!!! And there preety easy too,all bolts are right there and the only hard on was on the PS rite next to the starter, but use a swivel and your good.

i went with the regular OEM rubber motor mounts for a 1995 gt and they are working great so far, i think one was anchor brand and the other one was another, but no complaints so far

alright i found the cheep ones. I just don't know if that is the problem. The shaking has kinda gone away now. Idk what the deal is. It was shaking bad over the weekend and this morning everything was good. The shifter has shaken really bad since i had the car. Is it normal for the shifter to vibrate pretty rapid at high RPM's?

This is one of the biggest indicators that your harmonic balancer has gone bad... replace it, before you grenade your engine.

its metal but there is a rubber ring in the center the blows aparts and then your motor blows so id rather spend the 100 bills or so to replace the balancer

Best piece of advice ever! The harmonic balancer was bad. I replaced it and now its running like a cadillac. The shifter doesn't shake anymore and the car itself is smooth idling.

I do have another question though. When i'm driving on the highway, after about an hour of going 70mph there is a weird sound coming from the shifter. It sounds like a synchro speeding up but its not when im changing gears. The sound will continue even when i'm rolling in neutral. If i stop moving for about 10 minutes the sound will go away. Then it will come back when driving again. 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear feel like they are slapping the shifter when i get past 3k rpms.

get the fluid level checked in your trans... sounds like you are running a bearing dry

yea def sounds like a bearing i know the sound my old t5 in the 94 did the same thing but only when i really hammered on it like 2nd thru 4th. check the fluid it might help, but if its a bearing then the damage is probably already done
