T-5 rebuild time, some questions.

T-5 rebuild time

Being new to the T-5, but not transmissions I have done a few top loaders and some Jeep trany/transfr cases, what am I in for with a T-5? I am sure it needs blocker rings, and someone didn't replace the speedo drive gear the last time they opened the case, or if 'fell' off as the previous owner said.... .

Any way , it is a 13-52-199 (90 Mustang V8 WC) I hear there are a few parts that need to be pressed off/on? And a steel front retainer is a good upgrade. Are there any other upgrades I can do while in there?

Use... the car is not meant for the strip, will see spirited driving on the street, some open track time, maybe a run or two at the strip, currently has a stock rebuilt 306 in front of it, will eventually see a 450-500HP enigne. (not anytime soon though, and will rethink the T-5 at that time)

Thanks

you should look into buying gforce internals of it and calling it a day. Comes in a kit and will hold your 500RWHP. google it...very nice stuff that fits into your case.

Budget concerns Not sure G-force internals fit the budget right now.

If your budget is tight just get a used t5 for cheap and save up for a tremic. My father has been thru about 5 t-5's. The last 2 were upgraded. The t5 cant take to much power shifting after around 400hp or maybe is foot just never came off the gas. I have a tremic in my 91 gt. i bought it used for around $850.00 rated for about 600hp. I had a built t5 thou. Were in ny are you located. u can buy my t5 if your interested.
