Piston to Valve Clearance

Anyone here ever put a set of AFR185's on a stock block with TF stage 2 cam? I'm going to check the P to V clearance anyway but I was just wondering if anyone used this combo without having to cut the pistons.

I dont have 185s but if im not mistaken you will need to notch the pistons.

You will need to notch pistons with the 185 heads.

Would Twisted Wedge heads go on the stock shortblock with the stage 2 cam without notching?

Yes but you should still check valve to piston clearance. The valve angles of the Twisted Wedge heads allow a 2.02 intake valve with stock pistons and mild cams. I've run Twisted Wedge heads with the stage 2 cam (and bigger cams) many times with over .120" clearance.

Thanks for the info. I new I should have went with Twisted Wedge heads!
I didn't want to get too involved with this motor. I just wanted to slap a H/C/I combo on the shortblock to play around with. I am going to buy a 393 shortblock this summer so I don't want to invest much into the stock timebomb shortblock.
