+1, they are a little different, but I still pass on them. There is a video somewhere on youtube about a guy who cuts many different ones apart. I believe you want to stay away from stp too. I think they were the worst.

10 w 30 castrol hi mi with the motorcraft filter.

I will never have a fram filter under my hood - I have come across too many junk ones. I will never use a walmart filter either, the inlaws got one once and the engine made a bunch of noise.

wix, purolater premium, napa gold and factory branded fileters ftw

That information may be outdated and the Fram design may have changed but I still avoid them.

Oil choice is a like religion. I have no religious preference
5 w 20 is a little thin bro that stuff is for newer rides with variable valve train and what not.... needs to be thin so the actuators operate properly.

Actually, if I'm remembering correctly (since he didn't answer his phone just now), I have a buddy who part time's at NAPA and the filter rep said to go Silver on high performance applications because the Gold can restrict oil flow too much because of the high particle filtration it has. Sounds like a double edge sword to me... good, yet bad. When he calls back, I will either correct myself, or stick with this.

I also know people with 200k on their vehicles and all they ever used was a Fram. The key is to change often and on a regular schedule, and that depends on how you drive it.

yeah, sounds about right - purolater pure one got a bad rep for being too restrictive too.... install 2 and plug the bypass.... when your press dropps, change the filters

I just run one ford unit my 302 is like a timex - takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.
