Mounting of Ignition Box??

Does anyone have Pics of where their ignition box is mounted.

I am going to mount the system in my Car today and wanted to see where everyone else mounted theirs.

Thanks for any pics or Ideas.

If you look on the other side of the upper radiator hose you will see mine. Make sure you use the rubber mounting blocks that come with it.

Keep them away from engine heat. The number one cause of failure for MSD ignitions is improper installation, the next biggest cause of failure is heat.

Mount yours in the glove box where it's away from that hot engine. MSD's are "known to break" only because of heat from the engine.

I am about to mount mine inside of my glovebox or on the dash wall.

I got a deal I couldn't refuse.
For now I have it mounted and hidden behind the Battery.
This is only for right now.

I will be moving some things around later and remounting.
Also it didn't come with rubber for the mountings. I will either add rubber mounts to it or mount with rubber between the box and the car.

Thanks everyone.

Not bad not bad

Yeah get it out of that engine and put it inside the car somewhere Like where I am going to put mine. Run to your hardware store and find some rubber fitting that will fit through the screws so you can mount. Or if you are going to mount inside the car. Don't worry about them.

Also, you might want to get a Blaster 2 Coil from MSD so you don't overload your stock one because it will happen.

Sorry I should have said earlier I have a new coil as well. This one

I will look monday at work I think I have small rubber mounts that will fit.
The are like a really small engine mount with studs on each side.

They almost look like the rubber mounts that are holding the Air box in on the cars. But they are smaller.

Those are exactly what you need. Just putting rubber hose over a screw will do nothing b/c the screw is still in contact with the mounting surface and the box at the same time and will still transfer shock and vibration.
