I would personally build a big bore 347 with an aftermarket block, and boost that. That way, you can still use the TF heads. A big bore 347 with a turbo will make more than enough power for a fun street car.

When I had my 94, I had a 148k mile stock bottom end, AFR 165 heads, F-cam, GT40 intake, and a D1SC Procharger, and it made 506 RWHP & 510 RWTQ on 11.7 psi. It still had all stock fuel system except Walbro 255 HP intank pump, and 60lb injectors. It was plenty for me on the street. When you send 315/35/17 BF drag radials up in smoke at 60 mph in 3rd gear by just punching it, that is enough for me for a street car.
Whats a big bore 347? And what did it run at the track. We wants his fox to be faster than his daily. Most turbo foxes are 120 cars so that wont do it.

A big bore 347 is .125 over bore vs .030 on a standard 347, so most of the cubic inches are accomplished through the bore, rather than the stroke that causes an odd rod angle that a traditional 347 has. Of course an aftermarket block is needed (Boss minimum, but Dart would be better). I think 750 RWHP can be accomplished pretty easy with a 347 and enough turbo boost, and I can put a HUGE gurantee that the SRT4 will not touch it. I suggested the turbo 5.0 now until he can afford the build a real bottom end. He won't have much money in a stock 5.0 if he gets a heathy junk yard motor. Then, the supporting mods that he has on the 5.0, he can use later on the 347. A turbo 408 would be better, but since he just bought the TF heads, I suggested 347 since they will be more at home on a 347, but not a 408. He would need much bigger heads for the 408 if he wanted it to run like it is capable of doing. A turbo 347 with nice supporting mods should easily trap 135, depending on how streetable it has to be, could trap even more, but would be too much to handle on the street IMHO.

I never made a clean pass in my 94 before I traded it off, but the guy I traded it to, said it ran 11.17 @ 122 mph with drag radials and still worn out control arm bushing that also had over 150k miles on them. Car still has all stock suspension with lowering springs. It had 156k miles on it when I traded it off and still going strong.

are you in colorado?

I know the elevation game. its a bitch. thats why I say you need atleast nitrous on the car. but nitrous is fucking lame for me.

the car is decent on motor, but the nitrous is such a huge difference because of the elevation, it leave's you wanting to run it non-stop.

at elevation, you need some sort of boost on the car. even a cheap procharger goes a long long way for us.

I'm in the same boat man.

A better answer would be a short stroke 347 which uses the (331) 3.25 crank with a 4.125 bore. Big bore 347 sounds weird.
