which motor build would be better/cheaper??

i am debating building a 351w, aluminum heads, cam, carbed, spray.
or a stroker from my stock 5.0. either a 331 or 306. on spray carbed. i was also considering stroking the 351w. anybody have a ball park range on how much a 331 or 306 stroker built would make?
a 351w, heads, cam ect would make?
and a 408 stroker alum. heads, cam. ect would make?

and which would be the cheapest and easies?
im new to the 5.0s, only 15 years old. so not sure on which motor would be best. anything would help. thanks

Well, to get all pedantic, a 306 isn't a stroker. 306 is just bored.

If you are gonna go stroker on the 302, may as well go 347.

Cheapest and easiest is to leave the bottom end alone entirely, and just throw something like a Trick Flow top end kit on the motor.

What's your goal for this? How much power are you looking to make? ("as much as I can" is not an acceptable answer). Any ET in mind? What's this going in? What's it going to be in front of?

i was also considering just a built 302 turbo'd. not sure on how much power i want yet, i would love to be somewhere around low 11s. mid 10s. my brother had a heads, cam 5.0 on spray and only ran mid 12s. but his car was a bit heavier than mine, he had a vert.

thanks for the help.

and it will be in my 84 gt.

if i decided to go with a 351w heads cam carbed 100 shot. would it be worth the time/money and extra weight ?

any body with an idea of how much money it would cost to have a built 351w swap,
built turbo 302 and how much power they would make(ball park range) would help alot. thanks.

Well, what do you want? Better? Or cheaper?

Low 11s in a fox body is retardly easy.

The old saying "fast, cheap, reliable: pick two" is no joke. So you need a budget, and then decide which two you want.

It just depends man. There's a million options, and that's a vague description. You can buy a set of $1000 aluminum heads, or a $2000 set of aluminum heads. You can buy a $500 valvetrain, or a $1500 valvetrain.

You can't really go about it the way you're looking at it. Figure out your budget on the build, and then build around that. How much are you looking to spend?
