anyone ls1 swap in foxbody??

if anybody out there thats done a ls1 swap or knows alot about it could help me i would appreciate it.

how hard is it to do the swap?

can you buy most of the stuff you need for the swap or do you have to mod. alot of things?

any idea on how much the swap would cost?

any details or comments on how much it cost, what i would need to do and how hard it is would deffenetly help. thanks

just looking at all my options.

heads, cam, turbo'd 302.
heads,cam, carbed, spray 351w.
cammed, carbed ls motor swap on spray.

thinking the turbo 302 would be easiest. not sure which would make the most power?

really not thinkin 100 percent ls1 yet. still looking at all options i listed above.

any body with an idea of cost for a built 351w swap.
built turbo 302 any range of power for these motors^ would help alot!! thanks.

Check out LS1tech.com in the conversions/hybrids section. It has been done quite a few times. Easier than you think!

I know I am going to get flamed for this lol. But why not put a chevy motor in a Ford? The LS1 motors respond much better to mods, lets face it they do. So maybe he wants a faster car but still have the body/look of a mustang. Whats the problem with that? If he wants a stupid ls1 so bad, maybe he should buy the car it comes with. A viper motor is cool too, but I sure wouldn't even think swapping that in either... I'd buy a viper.

i dont like chevys either, i love 5.0 mustangs. but a heads cam 5.0 wont be near as fast as a heads cam ls1.

im only 15 man. lol im just trying to get an idea of what motor i want in my mustang. i was also thinkin about built turbo'd 302. but im just not sure yet & trying to get some ideas.

15 years old, lol. You aren't even old enough to even give the 5.0 a chance. I think it was Fogged306 that said it best... Stock for Stock, the LS1 will always win. But who the hell want's to keep it stock. By the time you would factor in the cost of the LS1 swap (even doing it backyard bob style) with the same amount of money, you could be having that 5.0 cookin'.
