Wouldn't it make a noise at all speeds if it is the u joint?

Thats what i thought.I was looking on the interwebs, and found some things about a "center support bearing" making a whirring, spinning noise. Now what the hell is a center support bearing, and where does it go?

center support bearing could be your problem if you say its a spinning noise, a u joint would be more of a clunking sound when you take off or switch gears, the center support bearing is on the drive shaft it drops down from the floor of the car and holds the drive shaft in place (supports it)

Sounds like either u-joints or pinion bearing..
Get under car and see if there is oil leaking at pinion seal, that's first sign of it going out....if not, twist driveline back and forth to see if there is slop in u-joints. You may have a dry joint.

Do foxs have this? My driveshaft is held between the transmission and read end. I dont think 1-piece driveshafts have this

Just jack up the car and take a look....or get help from freinds...

And no...1 piece drivelines do not have carrier bearings...mostly used on longer wheelbase cars/trucks...like older station wagons and long bed pickups.

no foxes do not have this.

if you have a high frequency viberation, I'd say it is the u joint. If you don't have a vibe, I'd say that a bearing in your rear (most likely pinion bearing) is spanked.

I was at a red light and i thought it was running shitty, then i punched it and heard that whirring spinning noise. After about 25mph i heard it going with the rpm's.

Check the rearend.....sure sounds like pinion seal or rear cover leaked and now yer outta oil....and the sound would be the ring and pinion mesh without oil.....the pitch of the sound will change with rpm...

Didn't think a fox had them, but he said someone said carrier bearing. I simply explained what and where
