IAC help / idle help please

My '90 GT surges at idle going from 400 to about 1200 rpm, sometimes even dying. I replaced the IAC but it wasnt any better, maybe alil worse. When I unplug the IAC it seems to idle fine, no surging. Then when I plug it back in it idles like crap.

Any ideas or hints to try? I unplugged the IAC and shut the car off, now have battery unplugged. Will try plugging it all back in to see if it resets itself, but other than that im kinda at a loss.

clean your maf, check and replace your O2 sensors, look for vac leaks...

all the normal jazz. However, this seems to be pretty normal when people add mods to their car but dont get it tuned, or tuned properly.

you are probably running too rich at idle
