Question

Copper Exhaust Gasket


Im in need of a new exhasut gasket and i see mr gasket has new copper exhasut gaskets

Has anyone tried these?
Are they worth the money?
Do they really seal up good ?

I always use copper header gaskets. I will not use anything else

Yes those are the style I use. They seal real well, But one thing you have to keep in mind is now gasket will seal good if the header flange isnt straight. I always put a straight edge on mine and make sure they are not warped. If they are a little warped I take a belt sander and take car of the hight spots until there is no light between the straight edge and the flange

I used Mac copper gaskets on my old 94 and had the headers off a few times, and even re-used them, but never had a leak, so yes I highly recommend them. Everyone said that Mac headers are junk after you take them off, since they don't have a 1 piece solid flange like a BBK. Everyone said that if you ever unbolt them, you won't get them back on, but if you do they will leak. Well, mine never leaked, so I will contribute that to the gaskets.

yeah they sounds good and a lot of people talk highly about them in forums so im gonna see if autozone can get them in tommorow if they can then ill order them from summit

Happened to me with my mac headers. Took them off and had hell putting them back on. Then they leaked after about a month. I don't remember what gasket I used though.
