Engine problem?


The car cuts off when I stop hard . The car has a holly 650 on it dont know if it has something to do with that. What could cause this?

Mine done that before for awhile. I think it was because the idle was set too low. I dont know why but when i would stop hard it would drop below 500 rpm sputter and come back up to idle or die....My suggestion is set the idle a bit higher, maybe to 750 or 800 and see what happens.

If that doesnt work or you already did do that, somebody else will chime in because my problem was fixed after that.

The timing has been set I will try adjusting the idle.

I tried increasing the idle it made it some better but it still stalls and cuts off on a hard stop? Would a weak fuel pump cause that? I think it is stock and mabey even a from a 4 cyl mustang. The glass in the fuel filter has a big air bubble in it and I have noticed a decrease in power.
