Rocker stud and other questions

Sorry if this is a repost but i couldn't find anyting about this subject in the forum search.

I'm purchasing Dart 195 pro 1's (bare). I have Scorpion 7/16 1.72 RR's. Also buying Comp Cams springs with 165 (seat pressure) and 385 (open) and was told to buy a stud girdle because of the pressures. The dart tech sheet for the heads says that they need a specific girdle because the stud holes are .030's moved. I found a Probe Industries girdle that has dart heads listed for fitment, so this should work correct? This girdle comes with the set screws so i would imagine i wouldn't use the set screws that came with the rockers? Also what size stud should i get (as far as height).

As for valve covers go i was pointed in the direction of the Trickflow short covers because i have a Trickflow track heat intake which has issues clearing tall valve covers. Will i have a problem clearing the girdle with these VC's? And if so what can i do to get all these parts to play nice with each other?

Thanks guyz!

PS: sorry for it being so long.

I would call probe to verify the rocker girdle, and I'm betting it won't come close to clearing short covers. Looks like you'll be needing a intake spacer. You can usually find them for around 20 bucks used on ebay. Don't forget the hardware is longer, so that's a necessity. And depending on the valvecover rail height, you're throttle bracket may still not clear with a 1 inch spacer and may need to be modified, but it's easy.

Who told you to run a girdle? I've seen more pressure run than that on a 7/16 stud w/o a girdle and no issues.. I ran almost than on the seat with pedestal mount rockers before.

What cam are you running and did you get the springs to match the cam?

I'm gettin the NX282HR cam kit, and i made comp what springs to run since the springs that dart had on their assembled heads would bind out before max lift with this set up and they pointed me in the direction of Dual Valve Springs: 1.489" O.D. Outer, .819" I.D. Inner with the said seat and open pressures.

The spacers aren't that big of a deal to me but i wanted to keep the strut tower brace but don't think one will fit with an inch spacer. I was told the 3/8th spacer will allow the strut tower brace to fit as well.

So i don't need to run a girdle then huh?

So what is the stock size of the rocker studs then?

Thanks!

There is no stock size rocker studs, stock rockers are pedestal mount, it's an entirely different system that uses a little cup shaped pedestal bolted down with a 5/16" bolt. I would call dart and give them the part number off the head, or just go to the part store and see what fits. I'm not sure on the thread pitch, but it should either be 7/16" or 3/8"

Ya the rockers i got are 7/16 but when i look up studs there are two different pitches 7/16 14 and 7/16 20. I guess i should jus call scorpion and find out.

Thanks for the input!
