heater fan not blowing
Last owner had replace heater fan motor and said it would not blow air. He did not know why? There's no air comeing out AC or Heat vents. Hi and low speed seem to sound ok just no air movement any where?

sounds like something is blocked or not hooked up. do you think it could be going in reverse? swap the wires on it and check again.

I was thinking the same thing. about it running in reverse? Im sure the plug is made that one can't reverse it. I'll look in to it and let you know what I fine. I did remove the heater box to check for blockage that seemed ok. Thank you!

if its running in reverse it should be pulling air into the vents. hold a light waight piece of paper in front of the vent and see if it wants to suck the paper in. also if your filter is blocked not allowing air to enter your system then no air will come out of your ducts

Okay Faststang91Lx your right...All this time i thought that foam looking thing you see when you look up under the dash at the blower housing was a filter. i just went out and looked at it, i guess its a gasket of some sort. idk. thats wierd that cars dont have filters in there forced air units. If we didnt install filters in our systems ( meaning house or apartments) the coils would be so blocked up with dirt within a year that they would no longer work and would have to be replaced, thanks for the correct info.

No problem, I just didn't want the dude looking for a filter that wasn't there, lol. And yes, I agree a filter would be a good idea. I guess my Tahoe has one... never looked though.

Found the wires reversed. Work's right now! The last owner had done this heater replacement himself. After he was done not only the fan did not work right but the motor would not started. Somehow he fried the computor. That was good for me it's hard to fine a tee top in this good shape. had a new motor to go in it and went to carburator. last thing's need to do is new dash cover, carpet and a starter switch don't think it will be hard to do. And back on the road she goes! Thanks too everyone for your input's always lot's of help!!
