I am trying to help my friend who has an 1988 mustang hook up his tach.He purchased car with the tach already mounted but not hooked up. He has delt with mostly Carbed cars with HEI stlye distributors with the one wire hook ups for the tach.So he is not sure how to hook up a tach when the car has an ecu.Any help is appreciated.Thanks

I believe you have to connect it to the negative wire for the ignition wire. If you ggogle how to set up tach on 5.0 you will find some diagrams that show how it's done. Good luck.

Same way as carb'd, go to the coil input wire. Should be dk green/yellow right at the coil.
