Question

Mix and matched Fox

I recently bought a 1989 lx hatch for a great price. my main reason for buying yet another mustang was that the interior is flawless, looks like it is maybe a year old inside and because the drive train has less than 30k since rebuild. But the outside looks like hell. There is a cobra rear bumper with gt side skirts and the original lx front bumper and cobra wing (all mix matched colors) . I was wondering if anyone out there with a lx has the cobra rear bumper with the rest lx? I want to go with the original look and was curios if anyone who had a gt converted theirs to the lx and what all was involved?

i think the lx body looks a little plain especially the front bumper. You could finish it off with the gt bumper and change that hood. But the car looks straight so u shouldn't have much body work. But lx parts are really cheap if u wanted to go back all orignal.

I think a clean lx looks much nicer honestly and I own both an lx and gt.

Under the gt skirts are hangers/brackets that hold the ground effects on that you'll have to deal with. People have done the gt to lx swap but it's probably allot of work.

I personally think an lx is nicer looking then the gt, and i also have both, just something about the lx just gets me, especially when they are lowered a bit and clean.... got to love them

I like them equally, I think you can build a completely different looking car with and without groundeffects.... if that makes sense.

that is the main reason why I am leaning toward the lx look. I have had a GT before and now i just want something streamlined and clean.
