They'll all be about the same... steer clear from MAC shorties, and buy something ceramic coated if you can. Will look good long after others won't. Why shorties?

haha it had macs on it when I got it and you know how painted headers end up looking so I would like to get some better ones. And its lowered pretty good so I really dont want long tubes hanging further down...

Check out andersons headers, as far as shorties go they look like they make some pretty well designed ones.

I see. Just keep in mind that not all longtubes will hang, and you will give up some hp, although depending on your mods, it might not be squat. Just trying to help you avoid spending money twice. As far as shorties go... I just sold some used ceramic JBA's that looked really good after who knows how many years since I bought them used also. And I believe it's RyanW that has JBA ceramics that he's had on his car for 12 years and he said they still look good.

Yes, longtubes can scavenge exhaust gasses and shorties can't, at least not nearly as well. With the right system, longtubes will always make more power than shorties.

No prob. Keep in mind that you'll need a new mid-pipe too. If you use an off road one, then it'll be cheap. Mid-pipes for longtube headers are always cheaper than ones for shorty headers.

And the choice between h and x mid pipe is basically more of a sound thing than anything. Supposedly an X will pick up a tad more hp at high rpm, but I couldn't tell ya firsthand if that is true or not. H sounds deeper, x is raspier.

Yea it's not bad to install headers at all. Just be prepared to take the steering shaft off (depending on the headers you buy) and if you unbolt the motor mounts and jack up the engine a little it makes life a lot easier. All said and done I went from shorties to longtubes in about an hour and a half.
