Just want to know what you think

I just want to know what yall think about my car right now. i have a 79 mustang that had a face lift to a 89 gt and sides skirts i have to lx rear bumper on it right now because i love tail pipes and i couldnt have them with the gt rear butventually getting the cobra rear. it was origanlly a v6 auto and i took a crown vic 5.0 and wireing harness and put the e7 heads and ho intake with 19 pound injectors and the car came alive from the non ho stuff. now i still have the no ho cam with the non ho firing order and it runs damn good for what it is. it only has 170 hp and 250 tq and the motor has over 200 thousand miles on it. i have the stuff to convert it to mass air and ho cam it. im running a auto computer with a t5. its the crown vic computer that is wanting the smaller injectors so in turn it smells like im dumping fuel out the exhaust because of how rich its running. i looked at some ho dyno runs and they have the same tq and 10 more hp. i have a sn95 v6 t5 and a truck flywheel with a v6 bell housing and a 7.5 rear end with 3.73 gears. im running the stock shorties with off road h and dual cherry bomb pro mufflers. 2.5 in exhaust with 3 in tips. i have the 90 moddle doors on it with all the electric goodies but the electric locks dont work but i just havent had time to find out why. ive relotcated the battery to the trunck. and put a front sway bar and subframe connecters and put a rear sway bar on. thats why i call it 79frankinstang. any questions just ask but what do you think

Sounds like you got a good start. Are you happy with it for now? What are your plans? Pics?

Its ok for what it is but my plans are to get and aftermarket block and get a custom ground cam. I haven't decided on if I want trick flow or afr heads. Then supercharge it. I'm going for an 80 mm throttle body and maf with 42 lb. Injectors and 255iph fuel pump. And laugh if you would like I know its not the most powerful for now but it will. And another thing how many of you can say that you have took your daily driver and started with basically a rolling chasy and built it from the ground up from as many different vehicles as I have

I can . I think you are off to a good start ( altho I'm not crazy about aero'ing a squarelight ). I have much respect and appreciation for you for building your car yourself. Good luck and post a few pics if you can .

I can tell you from experience that when you do get some power out of this creation, It will be an inevidable race to failure between that rear end and the transmission. Last 7.5 I pulled out of my 84 GT came out in pieces with a semi stock motor in front of it. Not positive about the sn95 v6 trans, but can only imagine with all of the t5's I've smoked.(4cyl.t5's...pathetic..) I've built many cars as well from junkyard parts and kicked much bowtie a$$ with em, but spend money wisely. Don't even think about superchargers etc until you've got a good solid 8.8 and at least a world class t5, even better a tremec. Look for deals, wrecked cars, swap meets etc. That's what I did for years. It can be done, it's important to start with a solid foundation! Good luck!
